Introduction

America was once known as a place of opportunity and prosperity. This is why our country condones the 12 million illegal immigrants that currently inhibit our land (Ewing 115). From TV news sources to magazines, it seems that everyone has a point of view regarding the current situation of illegal immigrants in America today. On one side of the situation, many Americans think these unauthorized immigrants are disrupting the American society through committing crimes,  stealing jobs, spreading diseases, and using drugs. On the other side, many argue that these people are furthering our economy by bringing cheaper labor to expanding companies and organizations. The entire United States population is directly affected by the situation because of the way it effects the economy, education system, and labor. This is exactly why the United States federal government needs to reform the immigration policy. The United States needs to develop an immigrant-friendly and nation wide way to maintain our borders and provide a reasonable assimilation process all while looking out for the good of the people, citizen or not.
